Tour du Mont Blanc Ultra Fondo – 338 km / 9,200 m, Les Saisies, French Alps (race day on the 17th)
July 13 ~ 8:00 am - July 19 ~ 5:00 pm
‘The world’s toughest one day bike race!’
More than a challenge, performing beyond one’s limits, a unique experience…
It sums up well the Tour du Mont Blanc, which will come back for its 11th year on Saturday, July 17th in Les Saisies.
Solo or as a relay team, you will climb the most legendary alpine passes, on a loop through 3 countries around “the roof of Europe” for a total of 338 km and 9,200m+ of climbing.
The race starts in Les Saisies (French Alps on Sat 18th July) and travels around Mont Blanc through Switzerland & Italy in a clockwise direction, to finish back in Les Saisies on the same day. It now includes 10 climbs – 1 3rd category; 2 2nd cat; 1 1st cat, and 5 Super Category (HC) climbs.
It’s going to be one hell of a day!
How will this year’s Hammer Sport CC team get on?
We know this event really well. I’ve ridden it 7 times and we’ve guided more people to complete this event than any other UK based organisation.
Please contact Andrew Thompson to discuss you place with the club at this unique event – 07801930443.
The solo event is only suitable for those with Alpine experience who have a focused training plan!
The relay event may look like the little sister, but with each rider needing to complete >165 km and >4,500 m of climbing, it’s an achievement in it’s own right! With less training commitment needed than for the solo ride, it’s therefore open to a wider range of abilities, but should not be underestimated!
Full details TBC soon.
Everyone joining us for a Hammer Sport trip is a member of the Hammer Sport Cycling Club. Lots of people become a club member before their first trip and then stay as a part of the family. We prepare detailed route summaries for each event (and for all of our rides either side of the event), meaning you’ll know exactly what to expect, with full details of each route and all the climbs. All you have to do is enjoy the (guided) rides and then focus on the event!
We are the UK’s premier European Sportive club with members all over the South of England. Everyone is welcome!
