Thompson bikes are one of the oldest and most respected bicycle manufactures in Belgium. They were founded in 1921, having been named after a beautiful English actress of the time. The company is still owned and run by the same family.
To survive in Belgium for that long, a company must offer exceptional products at the right price and clearly Thompson Bikes have done this for a very long time!
They offer a staggering range of not just the usual road and mountain bikes, but also city bikes, hybrid/sports bikes, traditional Dutch and Flemish bikes and now even have electrically assisted bikes powered by an incredible Bosch system.
As you would expect from a Belgian company, they are very involved with cycling and sponsor the pro Continental Teams of Ventilair Jong Flandereen and Team Thompson. Over the years, Thompson Bikes have been ridden by winners of some of the most prestigious races including the infamous Tour Of Flanders, one of the toughest ‘classics’ races in the world and last year the winner of the Belgian Elite (z/c) National Road Race Championship won riding a Capella.
This long standing involvement with the sport has lead to the development of some fantastic carbon frames, which are equally at home in a pro peloton or being used in a local sportive. The carbon frames are available in your own choice of custom colours (with the exception of the Antares) to get your bike just how you want it! They also hand-build the extensive range of TRC wheels in both carbon and aluminium, clincher and tubular.
